Dear Neighbors,

The Cache County Planning Commission approved an airport on the property of Nathan & Rachel Holyoak. This decision was made without due consideration to how it would affect the surrounding neighborhoods of Mendon & Petersboro. But it has affected people already. Two neighbors lost the sales of their properties, directly because of the airport. Others bought or built, not knowing that they were moving in next to an airport.

We do not wish to be at cross purposes with the Holyoaks. Many in our community count them as friends. However, this activity will negatively impact all of us, reducing our property values, and all but eliminate the peace we all enjoy in our community, for years to come.

We have appealed this decision to the county in hopes that we can resolve this matter in a way that is best for all of us. This issue will be heard by the Cache County Planning Commission on Thursday, June 6th. All are invited and encouraged to attend.

We also invite you to an informational neighborhood meeting on Thursday, May 30th, where we will present the facts in place, and our options going forward. The meeting will be at Mendon Station at 7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
